About Us

Lost World Jewellery is the creation of Elisabeth Burns Dendy, an artist born and raised in Greenwich Village, the artistic heartbeat of New York City.
I have worked in all mediums from oils, acrylics and pastels, to sculpting in bronze, clay, silver and Raku. I discovered the universe of beads several years ago, when I lived inTucson AZ.
Tucson has an annual Gem and Mineral Show, which draws traders from cultures all over the world. I was drawn to the beautiful array of antique beads, semi precious stones and unusual tribal art. By combining art objects and antique beads from many different cultures, with my own handmade beads of silver, glass and Raku, I create beautiful jewellery with a history and a spiritual energy that is unique.
I have called my site "Lost World Jewellery" because I believe we are losing the world of artisans and their authentic materials to a market of factory and mass produced junk.
